Total Day Count

Age Difference Calculator in Days

Enter two birthdates and get the age gap expressed as total calendar days — including every leap day in between.

Why Measure the Age Gap in Days?

Day-level precision shows the true granularity of an age difference that years alone conceal.

A 5-year age gap could be anywhere from 1,826 to 1,827 days depending on leap years. When you need to know the raw number — for social media captions ("we're exactly 2,555 days apart!"), contract date math, or curiosity — this calculator delivers a single unambiguous integer.

The total-day count is also the basis for every other time conversion: divide by 7 for weeks, by 30.44 for approximate months, or multiply by 24 for total hours apart. This page displays the day count front and center, with years, months, and days as a secondary breakdown.

Day-Count Questions

Does this include leap days?

Yes. The calculation counts every real calendar day between the two dates — including February 29 in every leap year that falls within the range. The result is the exact number of days, not an approximation.

How many days are in a typical year-gap?

A 1-year difference is 365 or 366 days. A 10-year gap is approximately 3,652 days. The exact count depends on how many leap years fall between the two birthdates.

Can I convert total days into hours or minutes?

Multiply total days by 24 for hours, or by 1,440 for minutes. If you also want to include the time of birth, try the age difference calculator with time for minute-level precision.
